“Why didn’t I have a good catch?” Is this a question you ask yourself over and over every time you go surf fishing? Seeing other people with their catch and enjoying the thrill makes you want to go on one side and be jealous. But, have you really asked yourself if you really prepared well and had the right bait?
You would not derive the pleasure of surf fishing if you didn’t come prepared and have the right bait. Surf fishing bait comes in different forms just like any other stuff. You have to make sure that you have the right tools to complete a job. There are important factors to consider to get the right catch that can be very rewarding.
First, try to know very well the location where you will go surf fishing. It is good to know what type of fish is available and what type of fish you are looking to catch. You have to be very sure that the fish you want to catch will fall for the bait. For example, if you are trying to surf for predator fish, then any surf fishing bait would do. It is because predator fish will feed on whatever is available even if it is not their natural food source.
Second, even fish can choose the surf fishing bait they want so remember this. They are biological organisms. So, you just cannot constantly drop them surf fishing bait. It can be effective for the first time but fishes also look for different surf fishing bait from time to time. They can prefer something else aside from the common bait.
But, if you just want fun and spend time with friends, then you can always use shrimps and crab species.
Some research would be helpful if you want to have superb results. It is also good to remember that available baits will vary for lots of different reasons. It can be affected by the time of year, the weather and other factors. Knowing what these factors are is important but it’s more important to be able to learn what the most common bait in the surf is at that particular time
